Fluorescent Ceiling Lights

Fluorescent ceiling lights are lights that utilize fluorescent light bulbs. These light fixtures are hung or suspended from the ceiling, and are made to illuminate the room over which they are hung. There are a lot of good uses for fluorescent light bulbs, and there are a lot of reasons as to why they are so popular.

Traditionally, fluorescent ceiling lights have been white light that were drab and dull, but in recent years, light bulbs have been developed using fluorescent technology that are actually a lot more warm, which means that fluorescent ceiling lighting can now give you the same warm feel as an incandescent light bulb, all while using less power and giving you more high quality light.

There are a lot of different uses for the fluorescent ceiling light, and these uses can basically be broken down into two separate categories; industrial and home use.

For industrial uses, plain white fluorescent bulbs are most often used. There may be many of them, and they are usually the long kind that you see in warehouses and garages (we have included some pictures on this site). These are less expensive than other kinds of lighting, offer plenty of light, and use less energy than other lighting types. Also, these fixtures are relatively inexpensive, as they require a minimal amount of electricity, and are usually all hooked to one or more circuits to control them. This is why they are used, usually on a large scale, in industrial-type environments.

For home use, fluorescent ceiling lights are much different. They are usually the kind of bulbs that are shaped just like an incandescent, they are usually a warmer light, and they are often shaded with a light shade. These still provide plenty of light, but the light is of a higher quality than that of regular incandescent lighting.

These lights do not, however, use any more power per watt, and so they are still brilliant for cutting electric costs in your home. Studies show that by replacing all of your light bulbs with fluorescent lights - including bathroom ceiling lighting - you can save you hundreds of dollars in energy costs over the course of time, and they more than pay for themselves the first year you use them.

If you are planning on buying fluorescent ceiling lights for you home or industrial building, then here are some things to consider. First of all, are you going to order the fixtures online? This would be wise, because the internet can offer you a lot of advantages that shopping locally cannot.

For one, you can compare prices and save money, and two, you can read consumer reports on certain light fixtures to see if they are going to do what you want them to do. As good as fluorescent ceiling lights are, they are not all created equal, and avoiding the bad ones can really help you to avoid hassle down the road.
